Comments: The artist began his career as an 'official' artist in the Soviet Union, and later became closer to the 'unofficial' avant-garde movement, which partly formed the reason for the artist in leaving the Soviet Union under difficult circumstances in the very early 1980's. This painting is also in the Dodge Collection of Nonconformists Art at Rutgers University, in three different versions with regards to color and size than this example from a private collection.
